My favorite book is "The Usborne Book of Fairy Tales." I like having 7 stories all in one book. I love the great illustrations especially trying to find the duck on each page.
My ABSOLUTE favorite book, that I found on your Usborne website is "Little Women" by Louisa May Alcott! This book teaches so many lessons that our daughters need to learn! I loved it as a child, I loved it as a teenager, and I still love it as an adult! I give that book 5 starts!!! *****
We have several "Touchy Feely" books. Our family favorite is "That's not my lion...". The girls love reading it to Andrew. The illistrations are cute and bright. The text is simple, so even my four-year-old can "read" it. I've found with some books the fonts are difficult to recognize for my first-grader who is a beginning reader. But, the Usborne books all have fonts that are easy to read. And, Andrew, 9 months, likes to rub the textures on each page. What a fun way for him to learn about textures and the adjectives that go along with them.
I have never heard of Usborne books, but my favorite that I saw on the website is "The Princess and the Pea." I have 8 grand-daughters that I know would love that book.
I don't own hardly any Usborne books, but the first one I got and my kids have both enjoyed at a younger age is "That's Not My Train...". I like the different textures to feel and the pictures to begin a baby's interest in reading from the get-go since most babies won't sit still when you start reading a book to them, but they certainly love pictures! I really think this helps develop their interest if you start at their level.
My favorite books so far are the 2 spanish books titled Mis Palabras and Colores. My husband and I are so excited to teach our daughter spanish as she grows up. I think that these books will help us begin to teach her the basics of the spanish language.
I just went to a party with misty and ordered the "puppies" touchy feely book. My son loves pulling at the puppy hair (its better than him pulling real puppies hair:)and I cant wait to get the book. It seems so durable too and thats great. Since I just leared about these books and I ordered this one, I think its my favorite! But that may change with time!
